Holland on Ice

After a busy week of packing our stuff into boxes, visiting all kinds of offices  and finally returning our apartment to the landlord; we departed towards tropical paradise.
Our first stop was Holland. Spaarndam

We spent most of the time indoors since neither Britt nor I could stand the cold ( -5°C). We were packing for rather warmer climate zones after all. Even during our stroll through Haarlem we had to walk into every fifth store to warm up a little. On the other side we managed to see Holland from a brand new perspective with all the canals, and they have a lot of them, frozen. Very cool: Some fields were intentionally flooded so that people could skate on them. It is a popular thing here. According to Katie Couric skating is even the main means of transportation in the Netherlands.

Also cool, the private tour through the railway club of Haarlem.

Apart from that, the future is finally here: One can order to the boarding gate via Deliveroo, crazy!

Lessons learned: If we open a bar one day, we will serve krokets with beer. It is a great combo!

A special thanks to the Chairman family for hosting us. Next time we will come in summer though 🙂
