The One with the Poncho

Before every journey there comes the period of anticipation and “gearing up.” This is the time when we stock up fancy trekking supplies.

Right before we left we purchased two rain ponchos. This tiny story is about the life, death and tragedy … of one rain poncho (<- click bait) and how people should be.

As you know, or could imagine, Britt is playing with (almost) every dog she sees.  The second time Britt was wearing her poncho, one of the street dogs in Ella decided to play with Britt while she was still inside the rain poncho. I will refer to the dog as Dr. No. Because we said like one billion times “No” to Dr. No. He totally lost it. First, he starred playfully and curiously at Britt wearing the poncho with big eyes and a wagging tail.

You know the feeling you get when you think of something you shouldn’t do and the desire to do it grows even bigger?  And the more you think about not doing it, the more you lose yourself to this idea. I now know how it looks.

Well, in a dramatic fight, for over 10 minutes, we managed to save THIS from the rain poncho:

Background is Dr. No walking away when the job was done.

The rest is distributed along the trails to Ella Rock and is most likely partly within Dr. No.

Epilogue:

The other rain poncho remains solo.

Dr. No still attacks innocent rain ponchos. So, consider this post a warning!

We believe the circumstances made him do (what appeared to us) a bad thing. But he is a nice dog by nature.

Britt does not generalise from one bad experience and remains being kind to every dog she sees.
